CRAIG FOOD!?!?!?!

You walk in. You look left to the cashier and hopefully, it's not the old blonde lady who is too excited so early in the morning. The cashier will always have something to say, be it lethargic or ecstatic. 

You walk a meter further in and glance at the menu slips. It's versatile to an extent. Most of the time the cafeteria is limited to less than 10 dishes, some of which are basically the same. It's a shame, having been fooled into the meal plan that would only offer me so little because it would "work" in my favor. A freshman year full of disappointment. They don't even let us eat bacon in our custom made sandwiches. 

Note: Incoming freshman, choose elsewhere to live other than the socialchico.

MENU 

  • Cheese Burger (same as the hamburger, with cheese) 
  • Hamburger 
  • Quesadilla 
  • Chicken Quesadilla (Quesadilla with undercooked chicken inside) 
  • Grilled Cheese (this one's pretty good) 
  • Hot Dog (burnt sausage with grease juice, sometimes good)
  • Special (varies throughout the week)

Yelp's Review

Many people don't like Craig's food-now recognized as the Social due to change of management. The Social Chico is recognized as the worst place to live at Chico for students and condemned by students, mainly because of the food. "The food is trash, and you can't do anything without being bothered. I pay over $1,000 a month because a meal plan is REQUIRED and you eat the same exact thing every day," (C. B., Yelp). 


Review

I myself found the food subpar yet barely acceptable. The stove is full of grease and is unlikely wiped down before any preparation for the following meal orders made by others. Frankly, it is difficult to eat when your food is dripping with grease, like a hot dog dripping out sausage juice. Hamburgers are dry and the condiments are not exactly adding any flavor. It's meant to be a cafeteria feeding the residents and all agree that instead of the same meals every day, that they should either serve different meals or expand the menu's variety.

IS IT ACTUALLY GOOD?  It's a good question to ask yourself before you step foot in any restaurant. You don't want to embarrass the cooking staff, or in this case, the barista. I take a glance inside and there's a room full of college students, a few hipsters, and even a few old people of Chico. It's a hot spot.  The Naked Lounge  has obviously lured in the student populace of Chico, possibly on a level even as great as Starbucks. From the outside, The Naked Lounge looks authentic and youthful, Starbucks looks so typical. MENU Not only coffee!! But There is also tea, espresso, beer, and food on the  menu . They're even smart in how they order their menu across the board with it separating the usually order drinks for newcomers and the unusual for those feeling extra risky.
